Itching, skin and coat

An animal that rubs, scratches or bites keeps itself, and its owner, awake. It is tempting to look only at the skin, but itching rarely comes from outside alone. Skin and coat are last in the queue: whatever the body cannot clear ends up there.

Find the pattern

Note when the itching appears. Summer only points to insects or pollen. All year round points more towards feed, digestion or house dust. Around a feed change points to the gut.

Write down what you see for a week. That pattern is worth more than any test at the start.

Support from the inside

Skin-X supports the skin from within in animals that scratch, bite or rub, and in sensitive skin with bald patches.

With a dull coat and reduced appetite it is worth looking at the liver too, Capill-Total supports there. If the itching stays severe or open spots appear, have your animal seen by a professional first.
