Privacy policy

De Huisdierenapotheker is an online shop run by Paardfit, Schietbaanweg 3, 7461 PX Rijssen (the Netherlands), registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 91758238. Paardfit is responsible for what happens to your personal data through this website.

When you order:

• your name, address and email address, and your phone number if you give it;
• what you order, the amount and whether the payment went through;
• a note, if you add one to your order.

When you create an account: your name, your email address and your password (stored only in encrypted form). In your account you see the orders placed with your email address.

When you send us a question: your name, your email address and your message.

We do not ask about your animal’s health. If you use the herb finder, your answers stay in your own browser and never reach us.

• To process and ship your order and keep you informed. We need this to keep our agreement with you.
• To answer your question.
• To meet legal obligations, such as keeping invoices.

We do not send you marketing without your consent first, and we make no automated decisions about you.

We only share what is needed, with partners that keep the shop running:

• Mollie, for payment. Mollie is itself responsible for the payment data it processes.
• The carrier that delivers your parcel: your name and address.
• Supabase, where your order is stored, on servers in Frankfurt (Germany).
• Vercel, which hosts the website. Vercel processes technical data such as your IP address, possibly outside the European Union, under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
• Resend, which sends the emails about your order and delivers questions from the contact form to us: your name, email address and the content of the message. Resend may also process data outside the European Union, under the same standard contractual clauses.
• WhatsApp (Meta), if you message us there yourself. WhatsApp’s own terms then apply as well.

These partners are bound by agreements on security and confidentiality. We never sell your data.

• Order and invoice data: seven years, as Dutch tax law requires.
• Questions by email or through the contact form: up to a year after they are dealt with.
• Orders that were never paid: deleted automatically after three months.
• Your account: until you ask us to delete it. An email is enough.

This website uses no tracking or advertising cookies. To see how the shop is used, we count visits with Vercel Web Analytics: without cookies, without following you across websites, and without us being able to see who you are (only combined figures, such as which pages are viewed and from which country). We only store what the shop needs to work, in your own browser:

• your cart, so it is still there when you come back;
• your language choice;
• that you are signed in, if you have an account.

Because this is strictly necessary storage, we do not ask for consent. On Mollie’s payment page, Mollie’s cookies apply.

You can always ask us what data we hold about you. You can have it corrected or deleted, as far as we are not legally required to keep it. You can also object to its use, or ask for a copy you can pass on to someone else. Send your request to info@huisdierenapotheker.com; we reply within a month.

Unhappy with how we handle your data? Tell us first and we will look for a solution together. You can also always complain to a data protection authority, such as the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens or the authority in your own country.

The website uses an encrypted connection. Only the people who handle orders can see them, each with their own login. If you notice anything wrong, please email us straight away.

If we change this privacy policy, the new version appears on this page, with the date at the top.
